How many hair grafts will a person receive in one session of hair transplantation?

Usually a surgical hair transplanting session may range from the transplantation of just about 1,500 grafts up to approximately 4,000 grafts, clearly dependent upon the individual needs of the patient. However hair grafting can be as few as just about 700 units, but generally would not be increased to 3,750 to 4,000 in one session, this heavy hair grafting is considered a large graft.

The grafting process in totally based on donor hair quality and characteristics of the donor hair. It is very essential that these hairs match to the recipient hairs because diameter/caliber of hair relates to its coarseness or fine quality. Apparently, fine hair needs more follicular units to be grafted on the patient’s scalp. Texture of hair is also significant because for example wavy or curly coarser hair may need fewer follicular units to be grafted than straight fine hair. Hair color is also very vital  , it is preferable for there to be less contrast between the color of the scalp and hair for it to become visible to be thicker, but if patient has black hair against a fair skinned scalp then the grafting may require to be more copious and carefulness.

The grafting process is very time taken and complicated technique, so it’s better to choose any qualified doctor for this purpose. It is very essential that all the hair grafting will do with the latest equipment and with carefully. Because, if the doctor will do any mistake in hair grafting process. So, you may suffer many complications after your hair transplantation.

What are the main surgical steps during Hair Transplantation?

Hair loss is very crucial problem. People are so worried after they lose their hair. Hair transplantation is the best way to treat your hairs. It will help in regrow your thick hairline. But it is very difficult procedure that’s why most of the people avoid this surgery.

In this surgery, the doctor cleans your scalp, and then with the help of a small needle to numb an area of your head with local anesthesia. Next, a surrounding part of your scalp that is covered with hair is removed with a scalpel tool. The doctor then divides the removed portion of scalp into tiny sections using a magnifying lens and pointed knife. These tiny sections, when implanted, will assist in achieve natural-looking healthy hair growth.

Hair transplantation is consisting of two major procedures: slit grafts and micro-grafts. Slit grafts procedure includes between four and ten hairs per graft and Micro-grafts procedure include one or two hairs per graft, depending on how much coverage is required.

Small and very tiny holes are made with a sharp edge or needle in the part of your scalp that’s being implanted with hair. Then the grafts are then smoothly placed in these holes. During one healing management session, hundreds or even thousands of hairs may be transplanted on the patient’s scalp. This whole procedure can take four or more hours.

The patient’s stitches will need to be removed about 10 days later. Patients may need up to three or four sessions to get the desirable results. This whole treatment session are spaced several months apart to permit each hair transplant to fully heal.

Does the donor or recipient experience any critical scalp scars, swelling, or irritation after hair transplantation?

Yes, the donor or recipient both experiences these problems in fact the majority people experience swelling of their scalp after surgical treatment and it frequently includes the forehead and sometimes even the eyes. But it is short-term condition, and usually settles in a few days.

Sometimes the surgeon will recommend something to reduce the swelling. You may also bear itching problem because it is somewhat common after hair transplant, and it can be ruthless or sever. Itching is normally due to scab development, and you could have a thousand or more small and tiny scabs.

How soon the FUE procedure can be repeated after large session of FUE

The days are gone when one had to hide his baldness with artificial methods like wigs and caps. The advancement in hair transplantation field has resulted in the most effective method named Follicular Unit extraction (FUE). FUE is the advanced and most demanding procedure of hair transplantation. The grafts’ extraction of this method distinguishes it from traditional methods while the implantation is similar.

In this suture-less procedure, donor hair are extracted in the form of follicular units from donor area by using small needle punches under local anesthesia. In extracting follicular units with the help of needle punch tools, a lot of care and experience is required. This is very complicated procedure and minor mistake can ruin entire effort. The extraction of hair follicular units is much time consuming. It can be completed in more than one session.
A huge range of benefits are associated with FUE. One benefit of FUE is that this hair transplantation procedure can be repeated after one month. Whether the previous session is single and large or completed in multiple smaller sessions, the sufferer can repeat the procedure after the duration of one month.

Needle punches produces small holes that heal fast without leaving noticeable scars. As the recovery time is fastest with minimum discomfort and pain after undergoing the FUE, it can help you to get the surgery again after one month yielding more natural and desired consequences. FUE has made it possible to permanently restore the lost hair without scars after one month.

WHAT DETERMINES THE HAIR SIZE

Hair is a naturally happening phenomenon of human body. There are numerous hair follicles that cover the most of the body. It happens on the entire body except on lips, palms and soles. On eyes hair does not grow except for the eyelashes. The hair on the head is more inclined to growth than the eyelashes. The growth of hair goes through three specific phases.  One part of the hair can be in one phase and the other can be in a different one. The three phases that determine hair growth are:

·        1.  Anagen

·         2.  Catagen

·         3. Telogen

Every strand of hair is at a different development level. If the process finishes, it restarts and new hair  (hair care) is generated. Every month hair grows from 1.25 centimeters to 0.5 inches. The phase anagen of hair growth is known for its hair growth. Connective tissues and capillary loops form a large structure under the hair where anagen begins. This process may take two to six years. If hair strands stay longer in anagen phase they will grow more. New hair fibres are produced by a process in which cells of papilla divide. Hair Follicle burns to nurture the new strand of hair. All the time each person has 85% of his hair in the phase of anagen.

Anagen phase is followed by the Catagen phase. Catagen is also known as transitional phase. Catagen phase determines that the hair growth phase has come to an end. This gives hair follicle the opportunity to renew itself. This process takes from two to three weeks. Hair length does not increase doing this phase however follicle pushes the hair shaft upward which gives growth to terminal fibres.
Telogen phase is considered as the resting phase. The follicle is inactive in this stage. This happens for one to four months.

Each person has about 15% of his hair inactive during any given period. Follicle is lined with epidermal cells. These cells grow and concentrate around the base. Thus the natural purpose of the hair is preserved. People experience hair loss which is called shedding. Hair falls during shampooing one’s hair. People also find their fallen hair on clothes. Hair also appears in combs and brushes.

After telogen phase comes to an end anagen phase begins once more. Hair stays in telogen phase until it does not enter anagen phase. Once hair growth enters anagen stage, new hair is generated again.
